Chinese medicine believes that life moves in a circle, from birth to life to death and birth again. In this circle there are five different stages where energy is distinct.
The ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine tells us that we are all born with individual rhythms that go beyond the influence of our genes and upbringing. It is believed that the 5 elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood) found in nature, are reflected in the body through all of its systems.
1
Fire Element
2
Earth Element
3
Metal Element
4
Water Element
5
Wood Element
Each element is associated to a core emotion and virtue that is expressed in balance or an imbalance.
Everyone has some characteristic of each of the 5 Elements with one Element having the primary elemental resonance within us, this “constitutional” element is our greatest strength and our greatest weakness.
Understanding these elements helps us stay in balance physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
