Summer vacations are the dream of a few days without stress and with time to rest and renew ourselves.
Probably the best vacations are the ones that take us far from our comfort zones and also the ones that take us away from the work-routine loop. That can be traveling to the other side of the world, landing in a place with a language you don't speak, or simply swimming without schedules at a nearby beach. Giving yourself a getaway is giving yourself time, it is taking care of yourself and being very aware of the well-being and rejuvenation. Studies published in the Journal of Happiness show the high therapeutic value of these periods of disconnection and well-being with a high positive impact on people's self-esteem, proactivity and biological immunity levels.
Prepare ahead of time, visualize what you want to happen on your vacation and take your wellness kit with you.
ESSENTIALS AID KIT:
Take care of your microbiota before the trip: it has been proven that changing meals, routines or the consequent jet lag affect proper gastrointestinal function. Supplements based on adaptogenic mushrooms respond to what the body needs for its rebalancing and strengthening of the microbiome by providing quality prebiotic fibers. Probiotic supplements are also important for increasing beneficial bacteria and for our intestine to resist and adapt to the changes.
Circadian rhythms are altered on long trips and if we want to minimize tiredness or sleep, it is necessary to drink enough water during the trip and even during the stay to stimulate body cleansing.
Don't forget your all-terrain essential oils: There's no reason for nervous tension or occasional insomnia to stop you from enjoying the best time of the year, so keep Lavender essential oil on hand, which is also a great skin protector in cases of burns; or add add a couple of drops to the body cream for post-sun care. Lemongrass essential oil is antibacterial, anti-mosquito, anti-inflammatory, draining and helps calm fears. Wintergreen essential oil is the anti-pain oil par excellence, articular and muscular, it is a great soothing essential on a trip.
Skin health is a priority, sunscreens with mineral filters and antioxidants, the cleansing and hydration kit with organic components and vegetable oils full of delicious and miraculous nutrients for the skin of the face and body.
DISCONNECT AND RELAX
The trick that works is to "detox" the phone, which charges, distracts and intoxicates us, to enjoy places and people more freely.
Find ways to disconnect that are comforting and healthy: morning Qi Gong exercises, walks in the countryside, mountains or by the sea. They are authentic meditations in movement and ways to connect with the good vibrations of nature. Try to give a different rhythm and coordinates to your brain and your body; decompress, breathe, and try to do what you want without pressure or disproportionate objectives.
EAT HEALTHY AND WITH PLEASURE
Eating local and delicious food is one of the vacation pleasures. One of the best aspects of traveling is immersing yourself in the food culture of the place and enjoying it. If we are aware of what feels best to us, it is easier to make healthy choices. The ideal is to practice compensation, that is, increasing vegetables and some fruits or skipping dinner, moving more or practicing a day of semi-fasting are resources that can also be pleasant.
